Ksenia Shinkarenko is a Melbourne-based contemporary artist whose work explores the balance between structure and organic movement. Using natural textiles, plant-based dyes, and layered compositions, she creates tactile surfaces that feel grounding and infused with warmth. Her early years in Japan fostered an appreciation for subtle detail and material integrity, values that continue to shape her practice. Later, relocating to Australia introduced a slower rhythm and a deeper connection to the landscape, guiding her towards raw fabrics and organic materials that hold traces of time and place.
